Green Smoothie photo by Elana's PantryThis delicious and sweet green smoothie contains tons and tons of both antioxidants and vitamins. And it really fills you up without weighing you down like many other lunch or breakfast options. And get this: it's a beauty product as well. Yes, thanks to pineapple's wonderful exfoliating properties, I can't resist the urge to use any leftovers as a face mask! Makes 5-6 cups.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 3 cups leafy greens, such as spinach

  • 1 cup bananas, frozen

  • 1 1/2 cup strawberries, fresh and diced

  • 1 cup mango, frozen

  • 1 cup pineapple, fresh and diced

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

Directions
Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Pour into two 20 oz glasses and enjoy.

Eco Tip

Unplug appliances when not in use. Your electronics—computers, TVs, phone chargers—use energy even when they're turned off. Stand-by power can account for as much as 20% of home energy use. Save both energy and money by unplugging your devices, or put them on a power strip that you can turn off when they are not in use.  More tips...
