The FusionStorm Foundation is holding a Dream Sail Raffle to benefit Project Kaisei, one of the nonprofits it funds. Based in Hong Kong and San Francisco, Project Kaisei has as its mission “to increase the understanding and the scale of marine debris, its impact on our ocean environment, and how we can introduce solutions for both prevention and clean-up.” The raffle winner and three guests will spend a week aboard a private yacht sailing the Tuamotu Islands, renowned for their rich underwater fauna. During the trip, they will have ample opportunity to snorkel, “swim with manta rays” and hike in this archipelago of more than 300 islands. And even if you don’t win, you will be helping keep these islands and the rest of our oceans free of plastics and other garbage. All proceeds from the contest will support Project Kaisei’s efforts to understand the pollution process and to develop energy-efficient solutions. They’re currently on their second expedition to the North Pacific Gyre above Hawaii, where they’re testing different marine debris collection systems. Winners will be announced on August 28th. Why not purchase a raffle ticket today to support Project Kaisei’s initiatives against ocean pollution? The sooner you do, the longer time you’ll have to decide which three of your friends will be the lucky ones—and which will have to hear of your amazing adventure secondhand. Tickets are $50 each, but that’s only $12.50 each if the four prospective travelers share the cost. Additional resources:
